Speaker of the Parliament Asylbek Jeenbekov met with members of local councils of Jety-Oguz and Ton districts of Issyk-Kul region on December 18, the press service of the Parliament reports.
Local councils mentioned several problems related to the repair of internal roads, uninterrupted supply of irrigation water, lack of kindergartens, higher wages for workers of water and forestry sectors. Particular attention was paid to restoration of social facilities damaged by the earthquake.
Jeenbekov spoke on public policy to strengthen the statehood and develop parliamentary democracy; reform of the judiciary and law enforcement agencies; development of the state language; regulation of religious policy in Kyrgyzstan.
Speaking about development of the economy, he listed a number of major projects aimed at ensuring energy security, transport and communications independence.
“We are laying the foundation for sustainable development of the country. A number of projects in the energy sector will contribute to development of the industry. To attract investors, we need uninterrupted supply of electricity,” the Speaker said.
