The Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan, Aida Salyanova has officially tendered resignation on January 19, 2015.
Salyanova took a special leave on December 23, 2014 that gave rise to rumors about possible resignation.
However, President Almazbek Atambayev denied this. On December 27, he said that she did not file a letter of resignation but took a special leave and would return to work soon.
“We need to admit that the work of the Prosecutor General is very complicated. She is always on thin ice... She asked for a vacation, and I let her go,” the head of state said back then.
In December, Atambayev signed a decree to award Aida Salyanova with the Manas Order of the 2nd degree for significant contribution to strengthening of the rule of law and democratic society.
