In a meeting with Prime Minister Sooronbai Jeenbekov, Minister of Agriculture Turdunazir Bekboyev has said Wednesday there won't be any problems with supply of irrigation water during the spring sowing, Tazabek reported.
Giveaway of tractors and equipment from Belarus and China for leasing at 10% per annum is ongoing, he said.
The Prime Minister reminded the need to fill all small and large reservoirs with water used for irrigation.
"It is necessary to raise awareness for rational use of water resources," Jeenbekov said highlighting the need for reconstruction and construction of irrigation networks and canals.
Jeenbekov also reminded that now there are effective tools and financial resources for the support and development of agriculture referring to the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund and soon to be established Guarantee Fund.
"Having this in mind, we must strengthen the work for the preparation of quality projects aimed at developing the country's agriculture sector, drip irrigation, greenhouses, construction of logistics centers, leasing of machinery, processing of agricultural products. Particular emphasis must be made on supporting the manufacturers whose products are export-oriented," he added.
