Speaker of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Chynybai Tursunbekov told reporters on Friday that he intends to run for president as self-nominated candidate.
Tursunbekov said he won't "reveal a secret if he had any uncoordinated issues with the SDPK party."
Journalists asked if Tursunbekov would step down as Speaker and if he had any uncoordinated issues with his party.
"I won't reveal this secret. As for my stepping down, so far I have not considered this issue yet," Tursunbekov said speaking at the press conference on completion of the work of the II session of the Parliament of VI convocation on June 30 in Bishkek.
Tursunbekov said he was not offended by the move of the SDPK political council to nominate PM Sooronbai Jeenbekov for president.
He was also asked if the Government will resign in September, to which he responded by saying that it is the Parliament that will decide on this question.
"Everything will depend on it [Parliament]. No decision was made so far," he said.
