The ceremony of signing a contract for the construction of the National Perinatal Center under the National Center for Maternal and Child Health in Bishkek took place in the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the Ministry reported.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Talantbek Batyraliev, representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Kyrgyz Republic and the German Development Bank (KfW).
According to the bilateral agreement, the German Government provides financial assistance in the amount of 10 million 500 thousand euro for construction, procurement of equipment, as well as maintenance of the National Perinatal Center.
"In the twenty-five years of Kyrgyzstan's development, this is one of the important achievements of health care reforms, when citizens of the country can feel them on their own and get high-quality medical services and perinatal care according to international standards," said Health Minister Talantbek Batyraliev.
Head of the Economic Cooperation and Development Department of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Kyrgyz Republic Kasien Onezorghe said that the construction of a new block of the National Perinatal Center is carried out within the framework of the agreement between the governments of the two countries and, in particular, Protection of Motherhood and Childhood - IV-V project. The purpose of this project is to improve the quality of medical care for pregnant and newborns in the country and to create opportunities on the basis of the future center for the professional training of medical personnel for all regions of the country.
