Two militants killed, one wounded in Kyrgyzstan

In the course of a special operation to detain members of a terrorist group in Zhayil region of the Chui oblast, two militants were killed, one was injured, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

On night of August 23-24, 2017, a terrorist group moving around Bishkek on Nissan Presage was stopped by a patrol policeman. During the verification of the identity of the driver of the car, as well as attempts to inspect his car, the passengers of the car pulled out a Makarov pistol and a military grenade (previously pulling out the check), threatening the police patrol officers then disappeared in an unknown direction.

On Aug. 28 one of the members of this grouping was detained in Bishkek, in the car of the detainee and in the place of residence a revolver, live ammunition of various caliber, Makarov pistol magazine and various electronic devices were found and seized.

On Aug. 29, 2017, the security services established the location of the remaining members of the terrorist group. During the special operation in the Zhayil region, the criminals were blocked, they were asked to surrender. In response the criminals opened fire. In the course of reciprocal fire, two militants were killed, the third one received a wound. The injured militant is taken to the hospital. There are no casualties and injuries among security officers.

When examining the scene of the incident, the investigative-operational group of the State National Security Committee found a RGD-5 grenade, a Makarov pistol and knives.

In addition, the security services detained two accomplices of the terrorist group.

This terrorist group was planning to commit terrorist attacks during the celebration of the Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek and Chui oblast, using improvised explosive devices.
