Kyrgyz activists call on Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to stop pressure on Kyrgyzstan by creating a blockade at the border, because of which ordinary people and ordinary businessmen suffer, deputy chairman of the NGO "April Bairagi" Tariel Iskakov told today at the press conference at Kabar Agency.
He said that, Kyrgyz entrepreneurs grew their products hoping to sell it and feed their family the whole year. And what is happening now at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, harms ordinary entrepreneurs.
"Not only citizens of Kyrgyzstan suffer losses on the border. We can say that the most of the heavy vehicles belong to citizens of Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries. Because of the problems at the border, entrepreneurs from all the countries of the EEU suffer losses, believing that the EEU will create all conditions for their work," Iskakov said.
He recalled that the main goals of the EEU are the free movement of labor, services, capital and goods.
"By creating obstacles, Nazarbayev nullifies all these goals. Here the question arises whether such a union is needed if one country can easily close the border and violate all established rules," Iskakov said.
Since October 10, 2017, Kazakhstan tightened the border, migration, customs, phytosanitary, veterinary and other types of control at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, which directly affected Kyrgyz citizens and vehicles with cargo.
