The landslide near the Chunkurchak mountain of Chui oblast is in a steady-stable condition, the Head of the Department of Surveys of Dangerous Natural Processes under the Kyrgyz Ministry for Emergency Situations, Bolot Sharshenov told to the News Agency Kabar.
Today the Deputy Aida Ismalilova at the session of the Parliament stated that it is necessary to consider the issue of changing the direction of the road to the Chunkurchak gorge, because there is a danger of a landslide.
Sharshenov admitted that there is a danger of a landslide on this area.
"The volume of the landslide is 6.7 million cubic meters. The first progress was in 1968-1969. After 2004, it became active but later its proactive attitude receded. Since then, the landslide is in a steady-stable condition," he explained.
Bolot Sharshenov said that there is ongoing monitoring of all dangerous natural processing areas, including the landslide in Chunkurchak.
"Whether the landslide occurs or not, depends on the natural conditions. Today, the landslide, as I have already stressed is in a steady-stable condition," he added.
