President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov accepted Chairman of the Kyrgyz State Border Service Ularbek Sharsheyev and Special Representative of the Government on Issues of Border Delimitation Kurbanbay Iskandarov today.
The situation at the state border of the country, as well as ongoing work to improve checkpoints on sections of the state border was discussed, the press service of the President’s Office reported.
The president instructed to take all measures to speed up the work on delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border and the remaining sections of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border, based on results of the agreements reached following the Kyrgyz President's visits to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Special representative of the Government on Border Delimitation Kurbanbay Iskandarov informed that intensive work is underway to determine the remaining sections of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border.
A meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for comprehensive consideration of bilateral issues between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan is planned for the second quarter of March 2018. The event will be a follow up of meetings of the Heads of States of both countries. The Kyrgyz President stressed the need on taking measures of speeding up the work on determining the sections of the state border.
Jeenbekov emphasized the need to create favorable conditions for passage through the checkpoints on the sections of the state border as well.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the President's Office Almambet Saliev, First Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Damir Sagynbaev, Adviser to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Jenish Razzakov.
