The infant mortality rate slightly grew for 6 months of 2014, having made 21.6 per 1,000 live births (1.4%) growth, according to the report on main outcomes of work of medical facilities in the first half of 2014.
The conditions occurring in perinatal period are among bulk reasons – 63.7%. They are followed by congenital abnormalities – 13.4%, respiratory diseases – 11.8%, infectious and parasitic diseases – 2.7%.
The growth of infant mortality rate is observed in Jalal-Abad region (by 29.1%), Naryn region (by 24%), in Bishkek (by 11.5%).
The increase in prevalence of congenital abnormalities is observed across the country, which is evidence of poor diagnostics of congenital defects during pregnancy, untimely diagnostics and treatment of extragenital diseases in women.
