The Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime under the Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan has eliminated a criminal group engaged in vehicle theft. Members of an organized criminal group involved in the crimes were detained, the press service of the Ministry reports.
A resident of Bishkek appealed to the police in late-April over the theft of his BMW 750. A criminal probe was launched under the 172nd article of the Criminal Code – unlawful use or possession of motor vehicles.
The investigation revealed the crime involved an organized criminal group. The police officers arrested three suspects, the rest were put on the wanted list.
In late-August, the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime conducted search operations in Bishkek and arrested two more accomplices, natives of Talas region aged 33 and 30.
The investigation activities are being continued.
