Kyrgyzstan has great potential for economic growth and development. Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Zhang Wencai said at a meeting with journalists in Bishkek.
He noted that this was his first visit to Kyrgyzstan. "I visited the sites and got acquainted with projects in such sectors as transport, energy and education. I met with representatives of the government, where we discussed the overall macroeconomic situation in the country, ADB assistance and directions for future cooperation. Based on these meetings, I am convinced that the country has great potential for economic growth and development," he said.
Vice President of the bank added that at the same time, the country has a number of complex issues. In particular, poverty reduction, attraction of investment in private sector, improving public sector management and inclusive economic growth. "Being a long-term partner of the government, I assured the Kyrgyz leadership that the ADB will continue to provide support aimed at economic growth of the Kyrgyz Republic," he said.
