Members of the parliamentary committee on law, order and fight against crime discussed a bill on amendments to the law on traffic in Kyrgyzstan on November 4.
The submitted bill seeks to address the essential problem of saving lives and health of the Kyrgyz citizens, Deputy Minister of Interior Ryskulbek Japarkulov noticed.
The document aims to reduce the number of injured and dead on the roads with right hand drive (RHD) vehicles, as well as to improve the efficiency and safety of road transport.
Following the discussion, the parliamentary committee approved the bill.
MP Galina Skripkina underlined that the bill applies only to new import of RHD vehicles and does not affect operation of those cars that have already been imported in Kyrgyzstan.
