Over the past 5 years, the incidence of brucellosis among the population has decreased 3.5-fold, Director of the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety of Kyrgyzstan Samir Osmonoliyev told the press conference in Bishkek on November 10.
Prevention of brucellosis in Kyrgyzstan was held as part of a 5-year project of the World Bank, he said.
“The project is now nearing completion, and so far it showed positive outcomes. Thus, according to the official data of the Ministry of Health, the number of brucellosis cases went down from 4.5 thousand in 2009 to 1.5 thousand in 2013-2014,” said Osmonaliyev.
