Member of the Parliament Tursunbai Bakir uulu has equated the requirement not to wear hijab in educational institutions to sexual harassment.
At the plenary session of the Parliament on December 18, the parliamentarian noticed that some teachers, deans and university rectors threaten to expel women from the institutions if they are wearing hijab.
“How do hijab and study comply with each other? How can be they expelled if they study well? I have to say that their demands to remove hijab is the same thing as sexual harassment. In any country, forcing the woman to undress means sexual harassment,” he said.
